Professional liability insurance
at HDI-Gerling Firmen und Privat Versicherung AG, Charles-de-Gaulle Platz 1, 50679 Cologne, Germany
Lawyers are obliged by the Federal Lawyers’ Act to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum sum insured of EUR 250,000.
The details can be found in Section 51 BRAO.
Territorial scope: Germany and other European countries.
The insurance covers liability claims arising from activities (1) in connection with advising and dealing with European law; (2) of the lawyer before European courts.
Worldwide in the amount of the statutory minimum sum insured for liability claims arising from claims brought against the policyholder before non-European courts.
The insurance cover does not apply to liability claims arising from activities via law firms or offices established or maintained abroad.
Professional title/authorization/supervisory authority
The partners and attorneys of the law firm have been awarded the professional title “Rechtsanwalt/Rechtsanwältin” in the Federal Republic of Germany.
They are members of the following bar association, which is responsible for them as a supervisory authority:
