Shipping costs may not only be communicated when the goods are placed in the shopping cart

In online retail, placing a product in the virtual shopping cart already represents a business decision. The information required by the Price Indication Ordinance on delivery and shipping costs, among other things, must therefore already be displayed at this point. It is sufficient ” to include the note “plus shipping costs” for the individual product if, when clicking […], a window opens with a clear and comprehensible explanation of the general calculation modalities for the shipping costs and, in addition, the actual amount of the shipping costs incurred for the purchase is shown separately in the price list when the virtual shopping cart is called up (OLG Frankfurt am Main, judgment of 10.01.2019 – 6 U 19/18).
