The Regional Court of Munich I has prohibited an advertisement by the manufacturer of baby food Hipp under threat of a fine of up to €250,000. The Federation of German Consumer Organizations had criticized partly unsubstantiated and sweeping statements in an advertisement for children’s milk on the vitamin requirements of infants and sued the manufacturer. The statements are to be classified as misleading, explained a court spokeswoman (LG Munich I, judgment of June 5, 2020, Ref.: 39 O 15946/19; full text of the judgment at vzbv).
